The section of borrowings is situated at the new building Faculty of Medicine at 1. PP (in Czech meaning) by lift or by stairs. The biggest change is that you can use the space of the library as the open shelves system - you choose the document by yourself and borrow it via selfcheck or in cooperation with us. When you want to use our borrowing service, we offer you over 100 000 medical journals and monographs, textbooks and lecture notes for medical school, language textbooks, dictionaries.

Types of readers' cards:

• Charles University (CU) student/employee card - the most common card, issued the first time for FREE, details of licensing. It is possible to buy a ISIC/ITIC/ALIVE version.
• Staff of the University Hospital Pilsen and other interested persons may use personalized card of the external user. To obtain it for the amount of 200 CZK (payment by card only), please also contact the card service center.

Because we have one integrated system under the Charles University, the cards issued by the University of West Bohemia or Pilsen Card CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

Infokiosk is a device that primarily allows you to view our Catalog, set up data in CAS or search for information in SIS.

Selfcheck is a device that allows you to borrow (text)books directly from the open shelves of your choice on your reading account.

With innovations, we have not forgotten the traditional borrowing desk we will help you with everything you need regarding section of borrowing.

If the reader does not return borrowed title(s) in time or does not extend borrowed title(s) he/she will be penalized:

• 3 CZK per every day delay per every title
  (Saturdays, Sundays, summer holidays etc. are not included)
• delay in returning of in-house loan (red label) is penalized 50 CZK for every day / every title
• the fee for the 4th reminder is 250 CZK

If you loose the title(s) or damage it (e.g. underlining, torn leaves, irreversibly damaged binding) you must replace it by the same title(s) (including colour pictures).

If you damage/destruction/theft barcode you will be penalized 20 CZK per each. If you damage/destruction/theft RFID chip you will be penalized 100 CZK per each.

IF YOU DO NOT RETURN ANY TITLE(S) YOU WILL CONFRONT LEGAL PROCEEDINGS!

Since the 2019/2020 school year, it is now possible for your own study purposes bone of the upper and lower limbs and skull model borrowing.
