Reference services desk - opening hours

General info

The reference services desk is situated at the new building Faculty of Medicine at 1. PP (in Czech meaning) by lift or by stairs. At the desk we answer questions about information resources, services to our users and also what types of new rooms are in the library.

Retrieval services

We provide retrieval services from electronic databases available in the library or accessible on the internet, from printed sources or indirectly from databases from other institutions. The scope of search and reference services and their possible fees are determined by the user category of the reader.


Based on a verbal, telephone, written or electronic order, we will process a database search in printed and electronic form - for you as our students (the only limitation is up to 10 sources).

Catalogues of specialized libraries

Help with PC's, print, scan and Wi-Fi

  • help with log in into PC's: run WebBrowser and fill as an user name: Students\your-CAS-name, password: your-CAS-password
  • money charging (minimum 50 CZK)
  • money recharging (print/copy), help with print/scan; Ricoh IM C3000 machines in S1.69
  • 2 CZK per 1 page A4 BW / 4 CZK both sided A4 BW
  • 5 CZK per 1 page A4 colored / 10 CZK both sided A4 colored
  • Wi-Fi network Eduroam (you MUST have a verified password in CAS!)
    CIT / Study Department does your password verification. You find the necessary information about Wi-Fi network Eduroam in CAS - the login information number-of-person@cuni.cz is your username. And your password is a newly set up password NOT-identical with CAS password.

Journals

  • printed – current issues Czech and foreing journals subscribed for 2022
  • printed – archived issues - on request from stock
  • e-resources at the Charles University

Room guide in the new library

  • S1.68 solo study room – room with s PC's, dividers and bags
  • S1-S6 small study rooms – study in complete privacy with a reservation in SIS
  • S1.64 parlour - not to disturb others unnecessarily and handle the phone call alone
  • S1.69 copy machine room - Ricoh IM C3000 machines for print/copy/scan;
    video tutorials: print from PC, print from USB flashdisk
  • S1.70 training and presentation room - for the teaching needs of CSI/faculty, reservation required in SIS after previous agreement with Mr. Rendla, MS (we prefer teaching and learning activities of faculty/hospital, student associations); reservation times are in accordance with CSI opening hours

The above mentioned rooms are opened at the same time as the rest of the library and are accessible from inside the library. You can buy earplugs (20 CZK) in a handy package (beware - automat does NOT change) near the entrance of the library.

The above mentioned rooms are opened 24/7 nonstop during the whole week. Accessibility from outside the library - entrance from the corridor opposite the canteen.
